FAQs

How did the name 'MADink' come about?

It’s a play on the concept that, in order to do what we do, you have to be kind of a creative crazy

I realize a lot of this stuff can be done virtually, but can I meet with someone from MADink in person?

Yes, maybe. To be clear, it is totally possible to help you meet your marketing and design needs 100% virtually and we operate that way 95% of the time. Having said that, if you are located near any one of the following cities, you can absolutely meet with someone in person (other cities are on our radar – we are experiencing an exciting growth spurt at this time and working hard to keep up!): Phoenix AZ, Denver CO, Sacramento CA, Grand Rapids MI, Nashville TN, Boise ID (Coming Soon: Greater Los Angeles area & San Francisco Bay area). ALSO, our HCIC (Head Crazy In Charge) is somewhat of a gypsy and loves to travel, so it’s occasionally possible to meet with our HCIC!

I don't want to get locked into a long-term contract

We have a plan that will work for you. The longer you commit to working with us, the sweeter deal we can cut you, but if you need a probationary agreement, we can do that, too. We are very confident in our ability to bring you results.

Can I 'name my budget'?

Who knows better than you how much you have allocated in your budget for such things? You can certainly tell us the budget you would like to stay within and we’ll do everything in our power to help you realize your marketing goals within that budget. Having said that, don’t be surprised if you find you have a little more wiggle room after something as simple as a new website becomes a reality.

We want to do more marketing, but we don't want to mess with 'facebook' or 'Twitter' or even blogging. Can you do it for us?

Yes! We have social media crazies who love to do that sort of thing. We’ll help get you out of ‘overwhelm’ when it comes to marketing options. The possibilities are endless, no doubt, but this is where our experts can help put you on the fastest yet most economical track to increasing business through social media avenues. We can even help you set up your ‘facebook’ fan page.

I see you have 'ala carte' prices. What if all I want is a logo? Does that cost a fortune?

A new logo can cost as little as $199. When combined with one of our plans, it can be even less. A complex logo (with intense graphics) can cost more. That’s the short answer.

What if all I need is a website?

We have a website-building plan that will work for your type of business and within your budget. No matter the size of your budget, we take pride in creating every aspect of your site. Your image becomes just as important to us as it is to you – after all, our reputation rides on it as well. While the plan information we provide on our ‘Pricing’ and ‘Popular Plans’ pages gives at least a frame of reference, we can’t stress enough that at MADink, one size does NOT fit all and we are dedicated to coming up with a plan and price range that will fit your needs.

How long does it take to build a new website?

Oooooo, that’s a loaded question. We are very particular about the work we do and will not sacrifice quality for quantity. There are so many variables to helping a client beautify their web presence. Sometimes a delay is actually caused by the client’s inability to get us information in a timely manner. Let’s put it this way…we will give you our best estimate at the time you contract us to help you and we’ll do everything in our power to meet that deadline. We will always keep you apprised of our progress and you will never ‘wonder’ if we’re making progress or what we might still need before we can launch your site. It could take a couple of weeks – it could take a couple of months, but we’ll give you a realistic picture of what needs to be done and how fast it can be done.

Can I really get a great website (that doesn't look flat) for $299?

If by ‘flat’ you mean ‘static’, you sure can! Gone are the days when businesses can get by with having a clunky website that isn’t somewhat intuitive. Prospective customers will be turned off and leave. You want customers to (quickly) be able to find what they are looking for and not get frustrated and leave. We liken it to going into a department store that’s a jumbled mess and you just can’t get yourself to stay to look for anything. If all you want is a simple 2 or 3 page website with a classy Home Page, an About Page, Contact Form  and some nice web presence, we can do that within the $299.

Do you have plans without a website build?

Of course! Part of our job, however, is to evaluate your web presence so we’ll take a look at your current website and offer a candid observation. If you have no website at all – you should consider adding it to your marketing repertoire. If it is determined that you don’t need a new website (or updating of your current website), there are plenty of other plans we can put together to help polish your company’s image and get your services or products out in front of your target demographic.

What is hosting and do I have to host my website with you?

A ‘server’ is where your domain name and website will live (exist) online. You can build a website for a domain name (www.myname.com) but not have it hosted anywhere (on a server) and no one will ever see it. Your website has to have a ‘vehicle’ to be seen online. We provide hosting within some of our plans (restrictions apply) or you can pay for hosting with another company. Just because you have us build your website does not mean MADink has to host it for you. It’s your choice to host it through whomever you please.

Can I maintain my own website?

Yes, maybe, no. Is that as clear as mud? We have various programs. YES: You can host your site on your own hosting and we can teach you how to maintain it (or we can give you admin access to your site on our server). The risk you take there, by not paying us a nominal monthly fee to maintain your site (often built into your ‘plan’), is that if someone accidently messes up the website design, we can’t be held responsible. MAYBE (a middle ground): An example would be a restaurant. Perhaps you’d like someone on your staff to change the daily specials, post blogs, etc. We can give specific permissions that would let that person perform those admin duties without having access to ‘website programming/coding’, etc. so your website doesn’t get messed up or crash. NO: If you choose to have us make all changes/tweaks, then ‘no’ you wouldn’t be maintaining your own site. We would, of course, turn it all over to you at any time you ask us to. We don’t own the website or content, you do.

What is the 'Ultimate' Marketing Plan?

Ultimate Marketing Plan is a program whereby we all roll up our sleeves and decide (together) what kind of marketing tools and avenues best suit your type of business and even your personality. While a certain type of industry can dictate (to a degree) how a company should market themselves (a restaurant should have their menu and hours of operation on their website, etc.), there are so many options out there – some high maintenance and some lower maintenance and more affordable. We’ll not only help you decide on your best approach, but help you implement the aspects of the tailored plan in a way that does not encroach on your ability to worry about the day-to-day activities of your business. Ultimate Marketing Plan is totally customizable (including print materials such as business card design, pamphlets, brochures, menu design, ad design for print or online, PowerPoint presentations, video and more). You can choose to have a ton of one service and less of another, depending upon how ‘hands on’ you want to be. Sometimes this even means we steer you toward someone else’s service who can help you (more economically or more proficiently) than we can. We’re happy when you’re happy! Your FREE consultation will clear up a lot of your questions.
